Urban Renewal

Berlin is frequently labelled the “coolest city in Europe”. Much of this is due to the city’s irrepressible ability to reinvent itself through a never-ending recycling and regeneration of seemingly redundant buildings and spaces.

This theme explores the innovative thinking, evergreen design and artistic desire that has seen Berlin quite literally rise from the ashes of post-war wasteland to become the beating heart of Europe’s modern art, design and architecture scene.
